Maintaining positivity is a daily challenge that requires focus and attention. You must be intentional about staying positive if you’re going to overcome the brain’s tendency to focus on threats. It's true! The real obstacle to positivity is that our brains are hard-wired to look for and focus on threats. This survival mechanism served humankind way back when we were hunters and gatherers. Today, this mechanism breeds pessimism and negativity through the mind’s tendency to wander until it finds a threat. Pessimism is trouble because it’s bad for your health. Numerous studies have shown that optimists are physically and psychologically healthier than pessimists. This alone should make you want to be an eternal optimist!
Ways to train our brains to focus on the positive can get pretty involved so we found a way to help that's easy and informative! An EI Test.
An Emotional Intelligence Test can provide some powerful feedback to help you with this as it won’t happen by accident.
Also, here are a few tips as promised!
😁Make an effort to find the positive in everything-You can’t control what happens to you, but one thing you can control is how you respond.
😁Create a positive environment-Spend time reading positive books, watching motivating movies, or listening to good music and try to keep positive people you know on speed dial.
😁Forget 'ABC' and remember, 'ABG'! Always be grateful-It is impossible to feel depressed in life if you have so many things to be grateful. You don't have to journal them daily but at least wake up each day and give thanks for one thing.
😁Exercise more-no excuses.
😁Treasure your experiences-Treasuring experiences does not affect the initial pleasure; rather, it provides a long-lasting happiness. Be in the moment when you're at dinner with family or friends, on a trip with a loved one or simply enjoying game night.
😁Help others-Volunteering or doing charity can boost your spiritual health and give you inner peace.
😁Go outdoors-Nature always gives us positive energy and helps us think even if we are listening to our playlist on 10.
😁Meditation-It will improve your focus, attention, clarity and will keep your mind calm. I can help with this and help you find your Stress Free Space.
😁Get enough sleep-When we don’t get enough sleep, negativity takes over our mind. Your body needs to recover from the day before stress! We can't 'make-up' lost sleep, it needs to be a nightly ritual.
😁Express your feelings-There's a lot of things that happen in our life, which we hold inside. When we express those emotions, we feel relief.
😁Reduce your worries-Worrying about things is a powerful reason to destroy anyone’s thinking. Most of the things you fear in your life never happen. They will grow stronger day-by-day and leaves you feeling stressed IF you let it.
😁Accept and find solutions-Most people can’t accept change in their life. Change will happen. We continually go through changes, because this is how life is meant to be. In the worst phase of your life, you should look for the positive aspect and find a solution to your problem. When you train your brain to find a positive in all situations, even tragedies won't hold you hostage.
